More than just a sound

This video looks at early research on how spinal adjustments may affect the nervous system, including the idea of "central segmental motor control" problems (areas of the spine that aren't moving well).

It covers three areas researchers have studied:

The prefrontal cortex: involved in planning, decision-making and motor control.

The cerebellum: involved in coordinating movement and sensing where your body is in space.

Sensorimotor integration: how the brain receives, processes and responds to sensory information to control movement.

What the research doesn't yet show: most of these studies are small, short-term and done in people without pain. They show measurable changes in brain activity after adjustments, but they don't prove that adjustments improve motor control, pain or general wellbeing in patients. We treat them as interesting early findings, not promises.
